Jaap Schelvis
Jaap Schelvis was trained as a zoologist studying Red Deer, Crab-eating Monkey and Carabid Beetles followed by a Phd in environmental archaeology exploring the relationship between (sub-)fossil arthropod remains and former ecosystems. Apart from these professional interests Jaap has always been an avid birder and bird-photographer. Working as a free-lance researcher leaves enough time for guiding birdtours, both abroad and from their B&B for birdwatchers in the north of the Netherlands. Apart from birds some of Jaap's favourite subjects for photography are Moths, Dragonflies, Hoverflies, Mushrooms and landscapes.
