Dirk Hilbers (1976) studied biology at Nijmegen (Radboud) University, the Netherlands, and is founder and director of the Crossbill Guides Foundation, a partner organisation of Saxifraga. This foundation publishes guide books on important nature areas in Europe. Dirk is into nature and nature photography since childhood. As writer of the Crossbill Guides, Dirk travels extensively in Europe where he photographs many plants and landscapes, but also birds, reptiles, mammals and insects. Many of these photographs are shared with the Saxifraga database.
Besides his work for the Crossbill Guides Foundation, Dirk teaches science&society and bioethics at Leiden University, the Netherlands. |
